Settings & Backups

TensorPM settings are organized in a drawer with four tabs.

General tab

Common controls include:

  • row borders and animations
  • restore session on startup
  • address me by name
  • background AI suggestions
  • update channel (auto/stable/beta)
  • communication tools toggles
  • project-level display and currency options

Notable General options tied to execution behavior:

  • simplified priority display scale (1-10 view, while AI ranking still uses full scale)
  • automatic background AI suggestions for priority, people, and dates
  • storage currency conversion controls (with explicit data conversion warning)

AI tab

Controls include:

  • preferred provider and model
  • API keys for BYOK providers
  • local key encryption toggle (when supported)
  • local AI server setup and connection testing
  • provider rate-limit settings
  • GitHub Copilot integration status/toggle

Local AI workflow details:

  • auto-detect local servers
  • test endpoint connectivity
  • model selection from discovered local models

User tab

Includes:

  • login/register and logout
  • subscription status and upgrade/manage actions
  • display name
  • passkey management
  • workspace management (local/cloud, convert, rename, delete)
  • account-level E2E recovery key backup

Info tab

Operational and support actions include:

  • check for updates
  • open logs folder
  • export support bundle
  • report bug
  • uninstall app

Database backup section

In General, the Database Backup section supports:

  • Create Backup
  • Restore Backup
  • Open Folder

Behavior notes:

  • backup includes projects, tasks, and settings
  • restore replaces current data
  • recent backups are listed with timestamp and version
  • in-app backup result messages auto-clear after a short timeout

Recommended backup routine

  1. Create backup before major imports or structural refactors.
  2. Verify backup list shows the new entry.
  3. Store important backups in safe external locations.
